New York State Learning Standards
Standard One:
Personal Health and Fitness
Students will have the necessary knowledge and skills to establish and maintain physical fitness, participate in physical activity, and maintain personal health. Students will demonstrate basic motor and manipulative skills. Students will understand the effects of activity on the body and the risks of inactivity.
Standard Two:
A Safe and Healthy Environment
Students will acquire the knowledge and ability necessary to create and maintain a safe and healthy environment. Students will demonstrate responsible personal and social behavior while engaged in physical activity.
Standard Three:
Resource Management
Students will understand and be able to manage their personal and community resources.
Areas of Concentration
- Demonstrated skill in basic motor and manipulative skills.
- Demonstrates knowledge of age-appropriate theme movement and fitness concepts
- Follows direction: actively and safely participates;
- Demonstrates sportsmanship, self control, and respect for others
